ABOUT ME
I live, work, and train in Seoul, S. Korea as an EFL instructor at Konkuk University. I have been training in hapkido since I arrived since the WTF style dominates South Korea, but I have continued my traditional taekwon-do training in my own time.

How long have you been training
25 years

My most memorable TKD moment
1. Being invited by Master Tompkins to sit at the master's table during the 2004 World Championships in Daejon. At the time I was a nobody and had the priveliage of his company and tuturage for several hours that day.

2. 1st Master Class in Singapore (2007) - President Grand Master Choi walked up and shoke my hand at the beginning and later invited me to sit with him during lunch.

TKD Accomplishments
I'm still walking, training, learning, and loving every moment after nearly a quarter century. That's enough for me.

Greetings Mr. Johnson! I just wanted to say hello and let you know that I will be fortunate to participate in a club training with Master Tompkins in the next week. I practice in one of the two Fairbanks, Alaska schools within the Phoenix Group - Orion's Belt. Master Tompkins is visiting with the instructors in Fairbanks and sit at the table during the Midnight Sun TKD CHampionships up here hosted by the other Phoenix Group school (our club is still a little small for that). Anyway, it sure is a small world... I started TKD way back in the late 70's for only the summer, and tested under Master (now Grandmaster) BC Yu back in Michigan. I read recently that Master Tompkins studied with GM Yu shortly thereafter, amongst many other individuals as well...enough yakkin - best regards from Alaska!
